Orkut SMS lets users stay in touch with their contacts using SMS from their mobile phones, Orkuters can now receive and send new scraps, get friend info using text messages on their mobile device's.

Unfortunately the service is not free and is only available in Brazil and India as of now, you need to register your mobile number by visiting this Mobile Settings page in your Orkut settings to activate.
